I consider myself a scientist because I can solve problems left and right. I can solve problems well because I use my own strategies.
Being a scientist involves equations, experiments, problems and more. Being a scientist doesn't need to involve chemicals to learn because there are many scientist that study all sorts of things and you may not even know it. Scientist study things like rocks, people, chemicals ect.
Every scientist looks at things in a different way. I can do all of these things in my own way like when I observed a snake in a puddle I thought he probably is cooling off. This is an observation and an inference because observing the snake is an observation. The inference is he must be cooling off. That is why I consider myself a scientist!
